Our office’s community councils provide the alderman with feedback on legislative priorities, new developments, community initiatives, and more. You can apply to join a community council here. Please note that applications for the Zoning Advisory Council will close 6/7/19. Applications will re-open next year.
Zoning Advisory Council
The Zoning Advisory Council meets monthly to review and make recommendations on various zoning relief requests related to development projects. For more information contact Josh at email@example.com.

The Transportation Committee meets monthly to address issues regarding transportation, parking, biking, and traffic. For more information contact Josh at firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Green Council directs task forces on projects such as creating a community solar buy-in program, ensuring biodiversity in our neighborhoods and and promoting stormwater management techniques. For more information contact Michael at email@example.com.

The Youth Council is a group of 47th Ward residents grades 8 through 12 who work to engage and organize young people throughout the Ward. They consult with the alderman on legislative priorities, plan community events, and weigh in on the the issues most affecting young people in Chicago. The Senior Council is a group of residents who work to empower and support folks to age in place in the 47th ward. The Senior Council encourages and facilitates lifelong learning, offers opportunities to be engaged and give support in our community, and provides a hub to support connections for older adults. Open Wall is a volunteer initiative that supports the artistic community of the 47th Ward through gallery exhibits and cultural programming in the Alderman's Office. Open Wall's landmark program is a rotating exhibit on our office walls comprised of art from emerging and established artists from the Ward, with accompanying events hosted by the Alderman's office featuring local performers.
