Western Brown Line Area Improvements
Coming Fall of 2025. Construction is underway for key parts of the Lincoln Square Master Plan and will finish by Fall of 2025. This is the result of a multi-year community process and historic local investments. At the end, we’ll enjoy an improved plaza and parking lot, better suited for our many community events and festivals, a new walking path with lighting, a protected bike lane, and a more enjoyable walking and shopping experience.
What To Expect
In The next Few Weeks
Construction crews are currently rebuilding the intersection of Leland and Lincoln Ave. As a result, there is no vehicle access on Lincoln Ave between Leland and Eastwood. At the end of this phase, crews will have poured new sidewalks and built a new raised intersection to improve walking access to the Heart of Lincoln Square.
Week of August 11th: Most pedestrian access to Lincoln and Leland expected to reopen late in the week.
Week of August 25th: Sidewalks in front of Lincoln Square Athletic Club reopen; Vehicle access to Lincoln and Leland expected to reopen; Work begins on Western sidewalks across from Brown Line (west side of the street). Sidewalks will remain accessible.
In The next Few Months
We expect construction crews to rebuild an improved, ADA compliant bus terminal. Work on the bus terminal will be completed in the Winter. They will be also be making significant progress fully rebuilding the plaza and adjacent parking lot, which are expected to be completed in the Fall.
