Ashland Ave Resurfacing

Coming Soon. We’re excited to share that the City will finish resurfacing Ashland Ave in the coming months. Last fall, the City resurfaced large portions of Ashland. In Spring 2026, the City will resurface the remaining portion of Ashland between Montrose and Foster.

In addition to resurfacing the street, crews will make it safer to cross the street—especially near Chase Park and Hamilton Elementary. The project also includes improvements to speed up bus boarding, and the replacement of dilapidated sidewalks.

What To Expect

Timeline

This project is expected to last until September 2026. First, crews will focus on resurfacing the streets, and replacing sidewalks and curbs. At this stage, they’ll also make deeper repairs where the layer beneath the asphalt is damaged. Then, crews will add safety improvements, including refuge islands and new bus pads.

  • April 2026: Crews will construct concrete medians between School and Montrose. Crews will then improve sewer infrastructure at several intersections (Ainslie, Winnemac, and Carmen). Between Lawrence and Foster, crews will also replace sidewalks and gutters and build new curb extensions and ADA ramps.

  • May 2026: Between Montrose and Lawrence, crews will replace sidewalks and gutters, build new curb extensions and ADA ramps.

  • June & July 2026: Crews will repave between Montrose and Foster. During this work, please expect temporary parking restrictions (lasting approximately 3–4 days at a time) in the affected areas. At times, there will be intermittent lane closures on Ashland Ave. Plan for additional driving time.

  • August & September 2026: Crews will install raised crosswalks, bus pads, and medians.
